Hi,
I am Maria Paulo, a Brazilian living in London since 2007. I am married, mother of two young boys and passionate about taking care of others. I am people oriented person with a warm personality that easily builds rapport with clients and colleagues. I started my carer journey as a childminder however since a temporary experience with the elderly I fell in love with the possibility of using my skills to improve the life of ones in such a vulnerable stage of their lives.
I enjoy listening about their experiences, helping them to care care of themselves, make sure their environment is safe and welcoming. I like the opportunity to give them hope that all is taken care of and they can feel that someone is that for them at the time I am working at their homes. I like chatting with them and am amazed with their teachings. I see this work as a exchange of life experiences.
I am diligent about my responsibilities; although I am warm and personable I make sure that my work is performed at the high standards ensuring they are safe and their basic needs are met. I have a First Aid certificate and also have had specific Health and Safety training for elderly people provided by my previous employer. I have experience changing adult pads, stomachs bags, and taking care of patients living in bed. I also have experience on cooking health meals, administering medicine and dressing disable people.
I have worked for carer companies such as Capable Care in Beckenham, South East London and have had many private clients that came through recommendations. I can provide references upon request.

I am very disappointed. Maria was doing great with my mother who has Alzheimer’s. Then, after informing me that she could not come the next week for personal reasons, she never gave sign of life again and never answered my messages although she knew that, living on the other side of the world, I really relied on her to visit my mother regularly.
